Chemical Peels at Grove and Kane are an easy way to achieve and maintain optimal skin health.
What are Chemical Peels?
Chemical peels are specialized solutions containing acids, antioxidants and brighteners which are designed to gently peel away the upper layers of skin. These targeted ingredients and deep exfoliation drive results which start to be revealed starting one week after treatment.
What kinds of skin benefit from Chemical Peels?
Every single chemical peel treatment at Grove and Kane is customized by your esthetician. This means that we can cater your treatment to match your skin’s needs exactly. All skin and skin conditions can benefit from a chemical peel including the following:
Hyperpigmented/sundamaged skin
Melasma
Aging/wrinkling
Rosacea and redness concerns
Acne and acne scarring
Sensitive skin
What are the Benefits of Chemical Peels?
We use clinically-tested chemical peels from PCA Skin and Face Reality Skincare to drive results! Some of the benefits of peels include:
Fading and reducing all kinds of hyperpigmentation
Stimulating collagen production to plump fine lines and wrinkles
Strengthening skin barrier to reduce redness
Preventing and reducing acne breakouts
Smoothing skin texture to reduce dullness and reveal brighter skin
Removing dead skin cells to allow the better absorption of skincare products at home
What to Expect During Treatment
Our chemical peels are applied at the end of your treatment. You will feel some slight tingling and warmth, which is expected. You will communicate with your esthetician about the level of sensation you are feeling, which will guide the treatment. You may notice some heat and sensation for up to 30 minutes after your treatment, and redness is also expected.
Chemical Peel Aftercare
Your esthetician will give you instructions for taking care of your skin post-treatment. You will be using a basic cleanser, moisturizer and SPF for 5 days. Redness and slight sensitivity is expected post-treatment as your skin heals and regenerates. Sometimes aftercare products can sting a little bit, and itchiness is also a common side effect as skin cells start to shed 1-2 days after treatment.
You may or you may not see peeling and flaking: either way, it doesn’t matter! Flaking and visible peeling is more of a side effect rather than the goal. You are still shedding millions of skin cells on a cellular level that is invisible to the naked eye.
Keeping your skin topically hydrated with moisturizers is the most important aspect to a successful chemical peel. Using your common-sense sun precautions (reapply SPF and wear hats) is important as well to make sure you’re not back-tracking on your skin goals.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
We recommend that you receive a peel monthly! Peels are used both for achieving your skin goals and maintaining them! You can peel year-round, as long as you wear and reapply your SPF.
-
We don’t recommend chemical peels when you’re heading away on vacation or have an important event within 2 weeks of your treatment. If you are pregnant or nursing, we also do not recommend chemical peels.
Those who are experiencing impaired barrier function from extreme dryness, sun exposure, weather changes, and too much exfoliation at home should not receive chemical peels until their barrier has healed. Impaired barrier function is something that your esthetician will check for before performing the chemical peel.
